Q&A:

Q: What is your favorite healthy snack and favorite meal?
HM: My favorite snack is fresh pressed juice – kale, beet, apple, lemon, and ginger.  My favorite meal is homemade pasta, sauce, and meatballs, zoodles if I’m trying to make it healthier, but that’s what the juice is for 😉

Q: What is your favorite skincare line right now and do you have a routine that you would like to share? Most essential skin care tip? Answer any or all of the above!
HM: I’m pretty low-maintenance, but sunscreen, moisturizing, and exfoliation are a must.  Right now, I’m using Environ and love it because Vitamin A is the active ingredient.  Most essential skincare tip – get out of the sun and find a self-tanner that you love.  Believe it or not but L’Oreal tan towels are my absolute favorite.

Q: Do you have a wellness secret?
HM: Don’t deprive yourself and listen to your body.  With food, with fitness, with everything.

Q: There are so many smoothie varieties out there! What do you put in your favorite smoothie?
HM: Kale, apple, banana, yogurt, lemon, and ginger.

Q: What is your favorite meal to cook?
HM: Sauce and meatballs, especially when I get to cook for a big group of friends and family.

Q: What are some activities you like to do outside of Pilates?
HM: Hiking, yoga, and dance but Pilates is always my go-to.

Q: Did you always have an interest in health and wellness?
HM: Growing up, I was a dancer so movement has always been a big part of my life.  My family raised me on organic kale and quinoa before it was the cool thing to do, so healthy eating was instilled in me at a young age.  But it wasn’t until I discovered Pilates that I truly got into fitness and understood how powerful and important it is to have a strong, healthy body.  Now I couldn’t picture my life without it.

Q: What do you typically eat for breakfast?
HM: When I’m on the run – a fresh juice and yogurt.  If I’m home, I treat myself to eggs and avocado toast.

Q: What is your favorite indulgence?
HM: Milk Bar birthday cake truffles!

Q: What are three essential items you have in your bag?
HM: Water bottle, phone charger, and hand sanitizer (NYC subways have turned me into a germophobe).

Q: Favorite quote
HM: “Love is without a doubt, the basis for everything.” -Eben Alexander
