Bio:

Rachael was born and raised in NYC Manhattan. She’ll most likely be dressed all in black because of this. She has been teaching classical Pilates for almost 7 years. She believes classical is considerate of ALL levels, so whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or advanced student, you’ll experience a proper workout for your level. Her staples are 20 min arm series, as well as doing sets of hundreds multiple different ways. You’ll be sore the next day, no question.

Q: What is your favorite healthy snack and favorite meal?
RT: I am a vegan, so my snacks consist of blueberries, bananas, peanut butter w/ celery, all that good stuff

Q: What is your favorite skincare line right now and do you have a routine that you would like to share? Most essential skin care tip? Answer any or all of the above!
RT: Vitamin c serum is a must. It’s a great way to get glowing skin. Also, any moisturizer with coconut oil.

Q: Do you have a wellness secret?
RT: I see my obgyn and dentist 1/year minimum. What’s going on on the inside is important to keep track of.

Q: There are so many smoothie varieties out there! What do you put in your favorite smoothie?
RT: Almond milk is a great substitute for yogurt or milk. It’s rich in calcium. I like my smoothies rich, so bananas have to be in there.

Q: What is your favorite meal to cook?
RT: Vegan spaghetti and meatballs. I use chickpea or lentil pasta with a meat substitute

Q: What are some activities you like to do outside of Pilates?
RT: I lift weights at least 4x/week. I believe strength is more important than appearance

Q: Did you always have an interest in health and wellness?
RT: I actually had an interest in appearance. Being rail thin was an unhealthy motivator. Now that I’m older, I’ve learned I want a healthy mind and body. So Pilates is now meant to heal me, not lean me

Q: What do you typically eat for breakfast?
RT: A bowl of pumpkin oatmeal with bananas or a whole grain bagel with vegan butter

Q: What is your favorite indulgence?
RT: Before I went vegan, it was pizza. Now it’s dark chocolate with sea salt and almonds

Q: What are three essential items you have in your bag?
RT: 1-lip balm 2-a pen 3-a resistance band. If I’m early to the studio, I take it out and do a mini gluten series
